About Thailand Luxury Privé
Thailand Luxury Privé is an editorial publication covering luxury travel, design, and material culture in Thailand. We exist because the editorial register the Kingdom deserves has been underserved — most coverage is either marketing dressed as journalism, or country-blog volume content that lacks rigor.
We are a small operation. We publish slowly and deliberately. The articles we publish carry the weight of having been confirmed at the source.
What we cover
Five editorial pillars define our scope:
- Stays — the hotels, villas, retreats, and residences that define luxury hospitality in Thailand. Verified pricing. Editorial verdicts. Honest about weaknesses.
- Material culture — Thai craft, design, and heritage practice. The intellectual depth of weaving, ceramics, lacquerware, woodwork, and the architectural philosophy that surrounds them.
- Editorial comparison — when a reader is choosing between two or three properties, our comparison content is the decision-stage reference. The work the property pages can’t do.
- Methodology — how we verify what we publish. The Verification Standard is itself editorial content; it’s also our brand spine.
- The Network — Thailand Luxury Privé is the flagship of a small network of editorial properties covering related verticals. The network footer link is the only network signal you’ll see on this site; depth lives on each property’s own pages.
What we explicitly do not cover: aggregated “best of” lists with paid inclusion, sponsored content from alcohol brands, anything that requires us to compromise the Verification Standard.
The editorial team
P. Kittikorn — Editor, Architecture & Northern Thailand. Architectural critic with a decade of practice-side experience. Based in Chiang Mai; covers heritage preservation, contemporary residential architecture, and the philosophical conversation that surrounds both.
S. Ratanapakdi — Editor, Craftsmanship & Material Culture. Background in design anthropology and Thai textile history. Covers weaving traditions, ceramic practice, and the relationship between contemporary Thai design and its source material.
Editorial Board — pieces representing the collective editorial position rather than a single author’s perspective. Used for comparison content, reference articles, and pieces drawing on multiple editors’ contributions.
The masthead expands as the publication matures. New editors are credentialed publicly here when they join.
How to read Thailand Luxury Privé
The site publishes three article types:
- Despatches — single-property editorial verdicts and editorial features. The bulk of our coverage.
- Curations — comparison content, decision-matrix pieces, and reference articles.
- Archives — long-form material culture pieces, design philosophy essays, and pieces that don’t fit the news cycle.
Each article carries the editor’s byline, the verification date, the property pricing date (where relevant), and the next-review date. The header tells you everything about the article’s editorial position before you start reading.
What we sell, and what we don’t
We don’t sell editorial coverage. We don’t take payment from operators in exchange for being included in our editorial. Sponsored content, when we publish it, is labeled #Sponsored · #โฆษณา at the top of the page and our standards still apply.
We do earn affiliate commissions when readers book hotels through our editorial partner Fora Travel, or experiences through Klook / GetYourGuide. The full disclosure is on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Editorial verdicts are independent of these relationships.
We are a publication; we are not a travel agent, concierge, or advisory practice. We refer readers to licensed parties for bookings, legal advice, medical advice, financial advice. Editorial content informs decisions; it does not transact on the reader’s behalf.
The network
Thailand Luxury Privé sits at the centre of a small network of editorial properties covering related Thailand verticals — luxury resorts, wellness, dining, retirement, visas, and a handful of niche topics. The network shares an editorial standard but each property has its own voice and its own editorial team.
When we link out to a sister property, it’s because the linked piece adds reader value beyond what we cover. We don’t cross-link for SEO; we cross-link when it’s editorially right.

What this site does not do
Repeated from the Methodology, because it matters:
- We do not arrange trips.
- We do not act as concierge.
- We do not give legal, medical, financial, or investment advice.
- We do not run sponsored “best of” lists.
If you arrived here looking for those services, we may not be the right resource. We refer readers to:
- Fora Travel — for luxury hotel bookings; our editorial advisor partnership.
- Licensed Thai counsel — for any legal matter involving Thailand. We list firms in editorial coverage where relevant.
- Licensed medical referral platforms — Medical Departures, Bookimed for medical tourism arrangement.
Thailand Luxury Privé is published from the United States by an editorial team with deep familiarity with Thailand. The publication is independent. The Verification Standard governs our practice. The masthead changes as the team grows. Last reviewed: 2026-05-15.
